Unknown Journey

I thought I'd start here with my "why." By that I mean the "why" behind writing a blog, about putting my vulnerability out for the world to read and see, and why it got the name Unknown Journey.

Unknown Journey was a name that came to me three years when I had just gotten out of an unhealthy relationship, I was feeling far from God and needed to work on myself; to find confidence, self-love and my identity in Christ. I found myself crying on the way home from being dumped, listening to my favourite radio station and a song came on that reminded me that even though everything seemed broken then, that God had a plan to see me through. My life in that moment seemed so unknown, but I knew there was a place for me and I would appreciate the journey it would take to get me there.

I thought about starting the blog then, but I was not ready, I did not have much to offer then, compared to what God has put in me over the past 3 years. I was broken and lost, I needed to rediscover the love story between God and I. I needed to learn the lessons of life, to live a little and know that my foundation in faith was strong enough to weather a storm.

As I have worked through my nursing degree over those 3 years, life has taught me many things. I have come to the point where I rely on the strength of God in every situation. No experience in life is a waste, even if it seems so in the moment. So as I recently found myself in a place I never expected to be again, I have not been broken when those around me expected me to be. Instead I have been thankful to God for his daily reminders that he has a plan and a purpose for me far beyond what I can plan for myself. It was in those reminders that I knew this blog was part of His purpose, that I have the ability to do great things by sharing about my amazing Lord, who saved my soul and is the reason that I wake up everyday.

Yes, I will share about God, but I also want to share about life, in the meaningful ways we can connect with those around us. I will share about baking, fitness/nutrition, crafts and so much more. I hope you will come along with me on this unknown journey and find a fresh love for God in your spirit.
